A Fabric Flower - Tutorial

Are you fed up with my tutorials yet?
Well, here we have one again! Since it's Valentine's Day and all, it seemed like a nice idea to add something hand-made to the gifts.
Nothing overly fancy, and propably similiar tutos may be found in the crafting books. But, ha, as if that'd matter, eh.

A Fabric Flower Tutorial

Needing flowers for dress/skirt/bag/hairclip/etc? This is a simple way to get just those... And you don't even need a sewing machine to do this!

You will need
-fabric of your choice (mine took amount of about a5)
-needle, thread, scissors
-whatever you want to attach it on
-buttons, beads, ribbons and laces, depending on how you'd like to decorate the flower

As a first step, we need five triangles.
In the photo there is six, because I made first small squares and then halved them to get the triangles easily to the right shape.
(And yeah, I didn't know how many I'd need in the end >__>.)

An important thing to note when cutting the triangles is, that they are supposed to be the shape of retangle, which hopefully is the right word for having two sides of similiar lenght and one that's a bit longer, ahhaha...

The second step! We will tweak the longest side into a heart's shape like shown above. "Aww" now. How fitting for a Valentine's Day gift, eh.

Anyway. Sew that. In the end it looks like a M in a sardine tin.

Now you should have the first bead of your flower looking like this.
Good, do the same trick to the rest of the triangles.

When you are done, sew all the sqeezed Ms together.

After that the beads are together, but let's sew them to stay more firmly on their places.
So, sew the free sides of the beads together. Not to the peaks of course, but pretty much just as long as they are already touching themothers. See the photo above and under.

O yeah, that's a flower. You can keep it like this or attach stuff on it like mad.
Or stay simple like I did...

Attach the flower on where you want it.
Mine was ment to be a hair-clip-flower, so hair-clip it is.

Aaaand, we are ready!

Some Days Ain't The Best

And that photo summarizes the day up.
(And the crappy editing just makes it better *cough*)
I was late in every point, every coord was looking weird on me, general mess up and tiredness. GAAAH.

But see, I was half way to wearing some aristo coord today. (After which I made some mad, showy coord, after which I threw more casuals on and ran off.)

Also I was supposed to pick up a wonderful jacket from a random shop, where I left it waiting yesterday with my name on it. Sadly, I forgot some money home, and, err, didn't get it. I'll try again tomorrow.

Also, I visited some certain dangerous sites, to drool on some mighty printed vest (with a discount price at the moment, oh my) and staggered over this:

So.. cute~
Such a shame I look weird in anything cute. ...Can I still get that? Ahhaha.

What I should be buying is a black hair-coloring-package-thing. I wonder how many months ago it was that I had some decent color on this head of mine. Too long, obviously. Brown kills my feng shui in life.
(Lucky me for it being at least dark brown. My father had black, oh why didn't I inherit that? My mother had red/orange... that could have been interesting, eh.)

Inside of this I survived through the day. (Sorry for the bad shot.)

We shall be back, and with a less blerghy entry.

Love to the Little Things

Alright, I checked through my outter hard drive and memory sticks, but my link list has completely disappeared. I needed to empty my com's memory, and saved all good links into one document where I had few things for this blog too... Well, gone is gone -__-.

New readers! Welcome, have fun~

Been developing some growing love towards accesories. Here are the ones that accompanied me today. Love to the skulls and big meataxeknives~.

This month's ImagineFX. So pretty.
And a huge bullet belt from flea market (15e). I have been wanting a bullet belt for ages, but the big ones cost so much.. And then this came to my life. But it's heavy. Way heavy.
(And they fit posing next to themothers, don't they.)

Some small things.
On the left is mighty gothic magnets, ain't they cute. (Tiimari, 2e)
On the middle is a cutie bottle from [Miss K], it has pink hearts inside~.
On the right.. I was planning to have some epic-goth day somewhere here. You guess the rest. (KappAhl)

This is an awful pic of a wonderful dress I saved today.
I don't use velvet that much, but this felt so nice that I saved it to be used at home, with friends, being epic, drinking red wi--- Moving on.
It's of an ankle lenght, has a nice slit over other leg, and the neckline's shape looks gorgerous when worn. Bought from a second-hand shop, 10e.

Oh yes. That's a real deal. Vivienne Westwood's orb pendant.
I won it in an auction, and am now broke to the core. A treasure <3.

Today's outfit shot. As colorful as I can be (pink days excluded).
Mheh, the weird pose that tries to make you believe that I have a waist of some sort, and tries to hide the fact that I didn't wear any makeup while taking this, ohhoho.
(Why is my door brown...)
