100th Post Give-Away

Oh no. Nonono. I have caught a flu.
But the positive thing in that? I'm sitting down and writing here while it's still daytime!

100th post.
Such a cool number, ain't it? Well, 55th, 77th, 99th, 33th, etc might have been cool too. But 100th, that's now.

And 40 followers, I'm pretty proud of that. I mean of you. (Cool double-round-numbers.) So I hope this give-away will please you all mighty well~

Let's check what I have in store for you:
Yellow light attack! But here you can see them up close. (click the pic to see it bigger.)
Let's have another one to show their true colors (well, pretty much, it's a rainy day, so it's a bit shadowy):
Let's call the necklace on the left Darky and the one on the right Lighty. They are both new and cute~

To take part in this give-away you need to be a reader of this blog. There are two gifts to go for, but please choose only one (to ensure that there is two lucky winners = two happy persons). If you'd like to have the cute Alchemy Gothic bat necklace, you'll go for Darky, if for the beautiful camee necklace, you go for Lighty. And since I love books and am always searching for more to read, write down also a name of a book that you love/ has made a big impression on you.

So, in a nutshell, leave a comment to this entry with:
1. your name/nickname
2. "Darky" or "Lighty"
3. name of a book you would recommend to me

The winner will be announced 14.9.2011, so leave your comment before that.

Thank you for reading! *bows*

I wish I had a cooler profile! T^T And the pierce sure looks weirdou here. Photos from the Hämeenlinna trip.

I'm going to have my hair cut this Thursday, and was about time! It's all over-grown and einsteinious. There ain't much to do to it since it's so short, but something has to be done! I also came by [this old pic], and it might be nice to have long hair again.
The original reason for cutting was partially because I was so sad about it: if I made a braid out of my hair, it was of the thickness of my finger.. But like in that pic, it managed to look epic too. Yup, I want it back ;__;.
The haircut might also cheer me up from feeling like looking silly. Not just the hairdo-wise silly, I think I might have some use for exorcising and healthy food too. Maybe the feeling is just due the school-starts-soon -things. Stressing is bad. But let's leave the Evil Reality related things aside!

An outfit shot from somewhere in the summer.
Shirt - secondhand // Skirt & Petticoat - selfmade // Black Rose Ring - Glitter // Camee Brooch - Bijou Brigitte

Somewhere during the summer I also saved these two (both secondhand):
... I don't know, it looked at me and wept that it had no home to stay and it wanted someone to love it and ... then I was already walking out of the shop with it! Stripes like that look ridiculous on me, but it's still cute. Maybe I'll find a way to attach enough black on it to make it feel right.

It has poofy sleeves.
In fact this has been around for a while, since I wore it to Lumous this summer...

As for otherthings -I didn't realize [Tracon] is the next weekend! Gosh, I haven't prepared at all. And the tickets are gonna pay enough to hurt my wallet too. Damn. But I'll be there.
The same week a huge cat show is held, and I was asked to tag along by the family of one of my friends, because they know I adore cats (they have cats taking part in the showthing). I'd definitely love to go, and propably will for the other morning.
We also settled a day to go and see The Dance of Vampires theaterpiece, that I wrote of some posts earlier. As for now, it's 17.9. if nothing special happens. (Wanna tag along?)

I also completed playing Final Fantasy 8, and made a traditional gametalkie [here]. I'm also thinking of making a games-only -blog. In finnish too. That'd be interesting, I wrote next to nothing in finnish now days. It might be good for me to do that. Now, where should that blog go...

Also finished watching Ano Hana (alright) and watched Thor (surprisingly cute) with big bro.
Now I'll be off to watch TrueBlood before going to sleep (yes, officially hooked).

For any and all of you, who like or would like to sew epic things~

[Truly Victorian]

Truly Victorian provides the world with beautiful patterns that are based on historically accurate fashion styles and seam lines.
The cathegories are made to present selected decades (like "Edwadian Patterns 1901-1909" or "Late Bustle Patterns 1883-1889"). Lots of skirts, bustles, tops and undergarments. As far as I checked the items are presented as drawings but also with photos of pieces made with the patterns, and that's wonderful since then you really see how gorgerous things those patterns may help you to make.

They ship internationally, and the pricing seems to be normal (like with, let's say, Burda's patterns or so...).

Here is few examples from their sites
(and all copyrights of the pics belong to them, naturally):

And since I'm talking about sewing things, see what I bought through eBay few weeks back:

It turned out to be wider than I excepted and I must say that I haven't yet figured out what to make out of this. Something epic, one day.
In fact there ain't any sewing project on the way because of *coughcough* financial problems.
(Well, maybe I could sew something for bjds if I wanted, they don't need that much fabric...)

Casino Evening & Medieval Fair

Oh dear, oh dear.
I better make this entry already, or it's going to be a week later again!

Pink Lord and chips.

The last Friday was the day that I headed over to Mouhijärvi, a small place with more woods than houses (but lots of cows and horses as far as I have seen, rather idyllic). You see, [Miss K] resides there for most of the year, and we were going to have her birthday parties held in a rented cabin around there.

And what a major plan we had to execute in the party! I love theme parites, and this year Miss K had decided to go for a casino theme. And not only that, but she wanted to have a murder mystery held and played during the evening. Naturally all that is a bit much planning for just one person so I helped her out with it.

Miss K made these, and they were delicious~ I want to be this good too!

And the theme and the event worked wonderfully! I was a bit afraid that the quests might have had hard time to throw themselves into being the made up characters (and that's why I was very loud and more talkative than ever (fine, maybe the pink punch helped too), to help them get into the game more easily), but everyone went for it. Splendid!
We gave everyone a character with links to other characters and their possible motives for the murder, and then during 20-30min rounds they were supposed to execute the small tasks (like "you know X has been seen arguing with the dead guy, ask X about it") and with those and with interviewing themothers, to find out who it could have been and why. (K also came up with a love letter and money briefcase that the detective leading the investigation brought up during the evening.) Between the rounds were the votings, in which everyone wrote down the most likely killer.
There was also a lot of card games involved, mostly Texas Hold'em, in which the chips were involved: the one who had most at midnight got a present. I was the guy giving the cards and checking everyone's hands. And boy, was I loud, but that came with the role (right!?).

Posing with Miss K. Yay. The dress is something I wore for my graduation, I didn't find any other casino-passable dress from my wardrobe! For the lazy hair and make-up I have no excuse.

I met nice people, gave them weird nicknames and was all the way very happy.

The saturday went with sleeping and hanging around, but as the sunday dawned I headed to Hämeenlinna's Medieval Fair, accompanied by Miss K.

Belongs to the most delicious-looking things on Earth, these with topping or not. Simple, but still...!

I'd totally want to adopt everyhting they had on this table!

Nice amount of dressed-up people hanged around the place. Oh, and there was a tournament, with horses and heads flying, and one knight's hair even caugh fire...

That's one dangerous looking moat...

Since the fair was held in yard of a castle there was no way to keep us from going inside the castle as well.

Innards of "King's Hall". Pretty sailing.

I was there too, see my new pretty bright red velvet jacket? I saved it with 15e last week from a secondhand shop. I think my autumn colors are black & red this year...

I was also sporting my septumpiercethingy. Lallallalalaa.

Sorry for mammoth posting again! I'm such a loser with selecting pics. You shoud see what I left out...!

As for the other things... the 100th posting is closing, I think I'll go for a give-away thingy?

Still playing FF8, finished The Princess Bride and am watching some anime called shortly Ano Hana, that my [sis] dumped to my com.

Gareth Pugh

Just a small entry here, in between the cartoon film marathon at Mouhijärvi.

Gareth Pugh

is an english fashion designer born in 1981.
His style is very interesting: sculpturous and futuristic. Very interesting, did I already write that? As those adjectives tell you, his clothes haven't been exactly ment to be worn in daily basis. Until Spring 2007 collection his clothes were indeed only for catwalk experiments, but now he is apparently shifting slightly more towards wearable creations (and that I did, yes, read from Wikipedia, I know, how uncool). He also seems to be very fond of using blacks and whites, which are always a very nice couple~

[Gareth Pugh in Wikipedia]

But ain't these fun to look at!
Pics gathered with help of google.

Very nice shoulders and sleeves, I wouldn't mind this jacket hanging around my wardrobe.

...Well, everyone knows that you might need safty pins. So it's good to have some around, yes.

As for other things!
Today there was a zombie walk held in Tampere, but since I found out about it but today, I obviously missed it. Such a shame, there were lots of people taking part in it and did it look fun!
I managed to find some photos of it, wanna see how the zombies look around here?
[Link 1] & [Link 2] & [Link 3]

And just because I started talking about zombies...

Hartwall Jaffa releases a new limonade taste this autumn which's name in english is "Zombie Berry". Currant, cranberry and strawberry. Zombie.. yes, one must try that.

Helsinki Calling

Oh, I know, I know, I know. I should be sleeping already, but I'm about to be drowned by all these photos, so do have few~

A week ago -is it a week already? Time is so much faster than I am- I visited Helsinki.

The friday, me and my sister checked out the local amusement park [Linnanmäki]. It was a nice warm day, so we had fun -if we don't count in the one point where one of those swirllswirllrollrollwhumpwhump-things got us feeling slightly ill...

The sign says "don't open".

Ain't they cute? They wandered around dancing and playing music, all while keeping up a (po-po-po)pokerface. And halting up absurtly to stillness.

We also visited an american-italian restaurant named [Virgin Oil co.] with mother and grandmother. Yum, restaurant food.

For the rest of the weekend I carried my bags over to the place of miss A and her boyfriend. The friday evening we watched two movies: [Ninth Gate] (with Depp *pink hearts*) and some random weird comedy...

Here we are standing on the top of a well-known finnish hotel [Torni]. The name of the hotel means "a tower", and it's a very tall building offering a great view over Helsinki. And! You don't need to be staying at the hotel in order to be allowed to climp up there -and when you do get yourself to the top floor, you may enjoy a nice drink with that sweet view.

(I'm on the left with a safety pin skirt & striped stockings from H&M, shoes are a gift. Miss A on the right)

While the saturday went by with visiting different places at centre ([Helsinki 10], a mighty place selling designer clothes, was one of them -just window shopping though!) and watching films [Season of The Witch] and [Disturbia], the sunday we went to wander at the sea fortress, [Suomenlinna], located right in front of Helsinki.

Miss A was wearing this wonderful dress that flew on the wind (it was very windy) which looked gorgerous on photos, but sadly I won't be sharing those, since I didn't ask her permission to spam her face in between of my weird mumblings here. Make do with me, and these:

Restaurant [Walhalla]? Now that sounds like a place to go! But perhaps a good thing that we didn't, since I doupt it could have lived up to the expectations ;).

You notice there's no much pics of the fortress itself? Well, I didn't think my photos of it quite nailed how cool it was. And I tried to minimize my spamming here. instead I shot photos of trees? My logic is unbeatable.

A small pond filled with green things... it just called me to take a closer look! Lucky thing miss A kept me from trying silly enterprices like that.

There she walks, gorgerous miss A ^^.

And seeing that felt only a slighty out-of-place. I so didn't yell "Spartaa" when I saw it, I so didn't.
(Reminds me of a fun texty in a History -magazine, in which they bondered on how well did Spartans speak their minds.. But I'll leave the history lectures to another time!)

At King's gate, mheehe.

At the moment it's once again about to dawn, and I'll be off to sleep in minutes. It's been a long day with lots of card games, funny people and drinks. How am I still up after all that? Beats me. But I'm afraid that soon I'll be sending an another pile of photos.

Until then, my dearest! Sleep you all mighty well!
